As the global market is moving fast on certification and evaluation of energy demand and consumption, certification bodies want to have the quality of their certification processes confirmed and be recognized as a reference for international certification methodologies.

A protocol for measuring performance is required to recognize the actual benefits of using equipment which performance has been third party certified. EVO announces today the recent release of a new protocol on third-party equipment certification.

Third-party certification represents an extra tool to performing operational verification in confirming the potential for the equipment to perform and generate energy savings. Equipment whose performance is third-party certified offers an additional risk reduction guarantee that can potentially prevent numerous problems that could undermine productivity, the lifeblood of a plant or factory. Consistent and efficient operational performance can reduce operational issues and energy consumption.

That’s why energy efficiency project designers are increasingly investing in only those kinds of equipment with performance certified by a third-party according to national and international regulatory standards. Furthermore, certification places the onus on the equipment manufacturer to design, build, monitor and verify equipment to maintain and improve their quality and performance, and certified equipment are regularly and more easily tested.

The best third-party certification bodies also need to conduct periodic testing and services to ensure the equipment’s good conditions and quality, as well as consistency in production and performance across the equipment range.
