International Energy Efficiency Financing Protocol |
|
Anees Iqbal, member of EVO Board of Directors and EVO Secretary, gave this presentation for the Energy Charter Secretariat on May 27, 2010 in Brussels. In his presentation he stressed on the difficulties faced by EEP owners in getting access to finance from banks and financing institutions due to their insistence on securing hard collaterals. He pointed out that savings measured and verified by an internationally accepted method like IPMVP can be a sound collateral for banks to lend against, and how IPMVP and IEEFP can help the finance world to better understand energy efficiency savings. He went on to show how IPMVP and IEEFP were being promoted in five countries of the EU and that the wider membership states of the Energy Charter Secretariat who also find similar issues and barriers in their countries can benefit from IEEFP and IPMVP.
