EVO provides services in two broad categories:

 Protocol Development Services

 M&V workshops and technical training

Protocol Development Services

At EVO we pride ourselves on our international expertise in M&V Protocol development. We have developed internationally accepted M&V protocols for energy efficiency and water efficiency projects. This expertise becomes the natural basis for our work. We provide services in the following broad categories which are in line with the EVO mission:

 Regional M&V protocol development

We are working with European and Asian countries to develop M&V protocols and adapt the international M&V protocol to specific conditions in these regions.

Sectoral protocol development to capture its unique characteristics

We have developed detailed M&V protocols specific to the new construction sector and the renewable energy sector. We are developing M&V protocols for measuring emissions reductions due to energy conservation measures.

M&V workshops, Technical Training and Certification

As part of our mission, we seek to raise the professional standards in M&V, and to improve the practice of those engaged in measurement & verification. We utilize our international expertise to develop special workshops and training programs tailored to the needs of specific regions. Currently, we provide training nationally and internationally as below:

Certified Measurement & Verification Professional program (CMVP)

EVO, in conjunction with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), offers the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional program (CMVP).

The objectives of the certification program are:

- To raise the professional standards and improve the practice of those engaged in measurement & verification

- To identify persons with acceptable knowledge and award special recognition to those professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence and ethical fitness for measurement & verification.

A training course in "Fundamentals of Measurement & Verification" is offered at each location for two and one half days prior to the certification examination. The course is available but not required for the CMVP examination.

 International Workshops and Technical Training

Energy efficiency projects are different all over the world. Differences arise from differences in techniques, technologies, local materials, methodologies, expertise etc. In order to increase international investment in such projects, these differences need to be recognized. Appropriate M&V education needs to be imparted to fulfill the specific needs of different regions.

Given the international expertise and experience within our organization, we are uniquely positioned to develop and disseminate such M&V education tailored to the needs of different regions where no other suitable training is available.

 M&V and IPMVP Workshops

EVO Trainers are prepared to conduct M&V and IPMVP seminars to fit your needs, including one- and two-day workshops. Workshop Program Content will be developed and presented by EVO Trainers to promote interaction with participants.

Based on a proven workshop agenda philosophy, EVO schedules trainings such that new content and ideas are presented in morning sessions, and reinforced via practical application and examples in afternoon sessions. Workshop topics are outlined below, but can be modified based on attendee needs and interests.

One-Day Workshop
A one-day workshop will introduce the basics concepts of M&V and the IPMVP in its morning session. This program would initially be focused on developing the M&V skills of attendees. It would serve to alert energy efficiency professionals about the range of possible methods, the reality of an international standard which gives comfort to all concerned about fraud, and the need for specific M&V design for each generic case. The afternoon session would cover the application of ideas introduced in the morning session using the four IPMVP options, followed by a question and answer period and a discussion of related resources. Documentation of the course would be the Power-point slides used and IPMVP itself.

This program would be useful for engineers, financiers, contractors, utilities, large energy users (e.g., facility owners/managers), government officials and regulators, and "energy auditors."

To ensure appropriate levels of trainer/participant interaction and "hands-on" involvement, the preferred maximum attendance is 100 participants for the one-day workshop.

Topics Include:
Morning Session:
 Energy Markets
 International & Regional Regulatory Structures
 Basic Understanding of M&V
 M&V Tools
 Protocols / Training / Certification
Opportunities for Attendee Community of Practice

Afternoon Session:
Application and Actual Project Examples of morning session concepts using IPMVP Four Options
 Q&A
Resource Discussion - Next Steps for Building a Local Capability

Two-Day Workshop
The two-day workshop begins on Day One with the introductory M&V topics covered in the one-day seminar and proceeds on Day Two to introduce advanced concepts, including all of the topics in IPMVP, with examples and case studies and opportunities for participants to consider and debate issues. Documentation of the course would be the Power-point slides used and IPMVP itself.

The target audience for this course is performance contractors, large energy users who might use performance contractors, energy auditors wanting to expand their expertise into verification roles, and large energy users interested in getting a better understanding of their energy budgets and being able to explain significant variations and fluctuations in energy use.

To ensure appropriate levels of trainer/participant interaction and "hands-on" involvement, the preferred maximum attendance is 50 participants for the two-day workshop.

Topics Include:
One-Day Agenda & Topics as listed above, plus
Day-Two Morning Session:

 Metering
 Modeling
 Uncertainty Analysis
Greenhouse Gas Reduction Schemes & Mechanisms
Opportunities for Attendee Community of Practice

Day Two Afternoon Session:
Application and Actual Project Examples of morning session concepts using IPMVP Four Options
 Q&A
Resource Discussion - Next Steps for Building a Sustainable Local Community
